Omega Speedmaster Green 57 Co-Axial Master Chronometer Chronograph with Column-Wheel and Vertical Clutch 40.5mm Stainless Steel with Green Dial. The fixed tachymeter bezel is a single-piece design made from stainless steel and engraved with black-filled graduated markings, including a “Dot Over Ninety” (DON). A box-shaped sapphire crystal, with anti-glare treatments on both sides, protects the dial side. This 40.50mm 1957 model features a stainless steel case and a green dial with rhodium-plated hour markers and “Broad Arrow” hands - all featuring white Super-LumiNova. There is a date window at 6 o’clock, a small seconds subdial at 9 o’clock, and 12-hour and 60-minute chronograph recorders on the subdial at 3 o’clock.
This latest 57 features Omegas brand new 9906 manual wind movement. This movement features a Co-Axial escapement, silicon balance-spring and dual barrels mounted in series. The 9906 offers 60 hours of power reserve. It is a Certified Master Chronometer, approved by METAS. This incredible movement can be viewed for all its glory through the large exhibition case back. A screw-in sapphire caseback reveals the upscale rhodium-plated caliber 9906, with Geneva waves in arabesque on the three-quarter plate bridge, the robust traversing balance bridge, machine-beveled edges, and the blackened screws and balance wheel. Resistant to magnetic fields greater than 15,000 gauss and features Omegas Si14 silicon balance spring & Co-Axial Escapement.
To go along with the new case and movement, Omega gave the Speedmaster 57 a new stainless steel bracelet that’s inspired by the Apollo 11 tribute and equipped with Omega’s patented comfort release adjustment system.
Additionally, the new Speedmaster 57 is the smallest Master Chronometer-spec Speedmaster yet, at 40.5mm in diameter and a thickness of 12.99mm. Omega utilized tomographic scanning technology on vintage examples of the Speedmaster ref. 2915 in order to best incorporate the watchs original aesthetic and wrist presence, something thats clear through the stainless steel bezel and polished case with no crown guards. The watch of course features classic aesthetic attributes like the "dot-over-90" bezel, "base-1,000" tachymeter scale, and "Broad Arrow" handset, recessed hour markers. Omega is also using its new flat-link bracelet, outfitted with 2.3mm of micro-extension through the clasp, that references the original ref. 7077 bracelet found on the Speedmaster 2915.
