IWC BIG PILOTS TOP GUN MIRAMAR 48MM CERAMIC CASE

The new Big Pilot’s Watch TOP GUN Miramar pays homage to the birthplace of the Top Gun legend, the pilots school of the US Marines in Miramar/California. From here, between 1969 and 1996, the reputation of the dauntless elite pilots spread throughout the rest of the world. The Miramar line picks up on certain elements of historic IWC deck watches, such as the division into an external chapter ring and an internal hour circle. The shimmering metallic grey of the ceramic case, the beige hands and chapter ring as well as the green textile strap were inspired by the military-style design. The IWC-manufactured 51111-calibre movement is one of the largest automatic movements and, with its pawl-winding system, builds up an 8.5-day power reserve in next to no time. But the power reserve mechanism is smart and allows it to run for only 7 days before stopping the movement. Because of this, the watch is guaranteed to keep perfect time for 7 days when fully wound. The sapphire glass has an anti-reflective coating on both sides and is secured against sudden drops in pressure in the cockpit. On the back of the case is an intricate Top Gun engraving.
